Regular OYAP

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP):
- is a Cooperative Education experience in a skilled trade work placement.

To qualify for an apprenticeship, you must be at least 15 years of age, either enrolled in
Grade 11 or 12 or equivalent* and have earned at least 14 credits.
- Earn credits toward a high school diploma while exploring a potential career within the skilled trades, record hours, develop trade competencies or even become a registered apprentice.
- Students have the potential opportunity to explore the specialized Concentrated OYAP and Accelerated OYAP programs in Grade 12.
- Build your resume and portfolio to improve marketability and to create a smooth transition into post-secondary apprenticeship programs.
*Students who completed grade 10 are eligible to participate in Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program during the summer before grade 11. Contact your school’s guidance counsellor to explore if this opportunity is right for you.
