Experiential Learning Programs
Experiential Learning is an inquiry-based pedagogical approach that provides opportunities for students to co-construct their learning by:
- participating in rich experiences connected to a community outside of school
- reflecting on those experiences to derive meaning, and then,
- applying their learning to influence their decisions and actions in various aspects of their lives.
The Waterloo Catholic District School Board provides learners with a variety of engaging learning opportunities at the classroom and Board levels, including elementary, secondary and adult education settings. Some of these include: Cooperative Education, the Specialist High Skills Major program, the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, Apps4Learning, retreats, Skill Ontario Competitions, Dual Credit opportunities, and many more.
We encourage students to take advantage of the opportunities provided in elementary and secondary school to know themselves, identify strengths, set educational and career goals, and create a Pathways plan to achieve those goals.
