Electrical OYAP is a four program which allows Grade 12 students the opportunity to become employees of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers).
- Students will begin the second semester in a Co-op class for pre-placement followed by an 11-week pre-apprenticeship program.
- During May and June, students will be placed with an IBEW unionized contractor while being enrolled in co-op. Students will not be paid for May and June. Students could be offered part-time employment over the summer as preparation for full-time employment with RTA status in August.
- Students may be offered summer employment that could lead to an electrician apprenticeship.
- There are limited spots available. Students who truly wish to pursue a career as an electrician should apply. This is a highly competitive program!
- For more information, contact your Co-op teacher or your Guidance Counsellor.
