Regular OYAP
This program is funded by the Government of Ontario.
Regular OYAP is a Half or Full Day Cooperative Education placement in Grade 11 or 12 where the placement is a skilled trade environment. Students are recommended to have some experience in the trade of interest through a Senior Technology course.
An OYAP Student:
- is a Co-op student in an apprenticeship occupation
- is 16 years of age or older
- has completed at least 16 secondary school credits
- is enrolled full time in school

- Earn credits toward an OSSD while exploring a potential career within the skilled trades
- Obtain important health and safety training
- Develop essential and employability skills
- Allows a smooth transition into post-secondary apprenticeship programs

Please note the following:
- Students must be going into Grade 11 or 12 to apply for Co-op
- Attendance records and teacher references are considered
- Students must have alternate placement choices and be prepared to accept them if their first placement choice is not available
- Placement expenses (e.g., travel) are the responsibility of the student and/or parent/guardian

- Participate in an interview and counselling process by a Co-op teacher
